Why TripLink

More than a virtual card issuer

We build around the way you work. Flexible technology, deep payments expertise and people who stay close make that possible.

Why the status quo falls short

Virtual cards themselves aren’t complicated. Travel and B2B payments can be.

Different suppliers, currencies, payment timings, controls and data requirements all add complexity. The real difference is how well an issuer can adapt to that complexity – and how quickly.

Many virtual card providers license their processing engine from a third party. We built ours.

A licensed model

  • ProcessingAuthorisation runs on a third-party processor.
  • Transaction dataData passes through external processing layers.
  • ReportingReporting depends on third-party data feeds.
  • New requirementsNew controls depend on the processor’s roadmap.
  • Fraud controlsLimited to the controls the processor exposes.

The TripLink model

  • ProcessingAuthorisation runs on infrastructure we built and operate.
  • Transaction dataData comes directly from the layer that authorised the payment.
  • ReportingReporting is built on the processing data itself.
  • New requirementsIf a control does not exist yet, we can build it.
  • Fraud controlsSet to merchant, category or acquirer, with authentication tuned per transaction.

The proof behind it

Trusted by businesses moving money worldwide

Three reasons why our clients love us

  1. We built our issuer processing engine, we run it, and we develop it. When a requirement does not yet exist, we build it, without waiting on a third-party roadmap.

Controls down to a merchant, a category or an acquirer, with authentication tuned per transaction. Changes delivered in weeks, sometimes days.

  2. Every client has a contact they can reach directly, supported by people in their region who understand bookings, suppliers and the payments behind them.

Expertise across product, technology, operations and compliance. Service is part of the infrastructure here, not a layer added afterwards.

  3. TripLink holds recognised security certifications, including PCI DSS and ISO 27001.

Enriched transaction data with a complete audit trail, so when risk, audit or procurement ask, the evidence is already there. Client data held separately from the Group’s travel businesses.

Your questions, answered

What clients ask us most about the platform, funding, licences and growth.

Can the platform handle our volumes?

The platform runs at 99.999% uptime, with authorisations approved in 300 milliseconds or less. TripLink issued 200 million cards in the last twelve months.

Can the platform be configured around our requirements?

Yes. Controls, settlement, reconciliation and integrations are all configured around your operation, and because we have our proprietary processing infrastructure, we can build a control that does not exist yet. Changes land in weeks, sometimes days.

How are payments funded?

By credit line, pre-funded balance or a combination of the two, with funds released when the supplier is paid. Funding can be held in multiple locations across Europe and Asia-Pacific with your preferred local currency. Availability varies by jurisdiction.

Which licences and certifications does TripLink hold?

TripLink holds a Payment Institution licence from De Nederlandsche Bank, a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and a Money Service Operator licence in Hong Kong. It also holds recognised security certifications, including PCI DSS and ISO 27001.

Can you support us as we expand into new markets?

We issue across six markets and 25+ settlement currencies, backed by licences in three jurisdictions, so growing does not mean changing provider.
